Nevada SPCA Neon Dog Walk Presented by The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Sunset Park

Nevada SPCA’s inaugural Neon Dog Walk Presented by The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and co-sponsored by Findlay Toyota kicks off on Saturday, October 9th! This fundraiser promises to be a fun, family-friendly 1.7-mile walk around the Dunes Trail at Sunset Park to help raise funds for homeless pets at our new shelter located at 5375 Procyon St. Suite 108.

Nevada SPCA encourages individuals and teams to register and start fundraising now to increase their impact on homeless pets. The first 300 participants to register online will receive an exclusive “wag bag” filled with goodies from our community partners, along with a commemorative T-Shirt. Funds raised during the Neon Dog Walk, through registration fees and individual donations, will help to provide medical care to sick and injured animals and supports Nevada SPCA’s overall mission to reduce pet homelessness and animal suffering.

Animal lovers and their dogs are invited to arrive with their pups and themselves decked out in glow-in-the-dark swag to light the trail. Registrants may pick up their “wag bag” beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the park. The walk will officially commence at 6:00 p.m., approximately the time when the sun begins to set. After the walk, venture over to Neon Village located in the grass just adjacent to the trail and enjoy live music, delicious food provided by the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas, and shop local vendors. Local radio personality Joanna Baumann from Sunny 106.5’s “AJ and Joanna in the Morning” show will be our emcee for the evening. The Neon Village will be open to the public and the event will be open until 9:00 p.m.

“We’re so excited to begin what we hope will become a beloved annual tradition in Las Vegas. We want this to be a fun, unique experience for families and their dogs,” said Lori Heeren, Nevada SPCA Executive Director. “We are a local, independent nonprofit, so everything that we do to support homeless pets is made possible thanks to the generous support from people right here in our community.”

Registration for Nevada SPCA’s Neon Dog Walk is $35 per person and $15 for children 12 and under. Children 5 and under are free, strollers are welcome. All well-mannered dogs must be leashed at all times. Participants can register and fundraise as an individual or join a team. Registration and details for the event can be found by visiting https://nevadaspca.org/event/neondogwalk. A virtual option is also available and includes a commemorative T-shirt which will be mailed.

Additional community sponsors include Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Lerner and Rowe Gives Back, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Dogwalkers Cannabis Pre-roll, and Sunny 106.5. Additional sponsorship or vendor opportunities are available, email events@nevadaspca.org.
